Goodbye

My dad passed away in January this year 2 weeks before my mom's birthday. He had become sick quickly starting in August. He was sent to La Jolla to have surgery for Appendiceal Cancer. The surgery was successful and doctors expected him to pull through and recover. However, he developed an infection which caused his kidneys to fail and eventually took his life 7 days after surgery.
I flew to California to be with my mom while he was recovering in the ICU. My mom didn't tell me until I stepped off the plane that he was going to die that day. I walked into his hospital room and within the next 15-20 minutes he passed away. This was truely the worst day of my life and I will miss him sooo much. He will always be in my heart!

Blowing "smoke"

So I just have to say how annoyed I am today. I called Kade's pediatrician around noon to see if he needed to come in and be seen. He didnt have a wet diaper in over 36 hours and he was refusing to eat and drink. He threw up five times and still had a hacking mucousy cough. He didn't call me back till 5 pm and he treated me like I was a retard and just over reacting about how sick Kade has been. He said, "He sounds fine". Then I asked if he needed to come in for a follow up apt. and he said, "Well I guess we could, but not for like 10 days". What a jerk! I need a new pediatrician!

Last memory with Grandpa

On December 29th just after christmas Grandpa wanted to take Kade sledding in his new sled that he got him for Christmas. Grandpa was feeling pretty good this day and felt up to bearing the cold and going out for some fun. First we sled around the icy streets and then headed over to the park where we sled down the big snow bank. Even Grandpa went down on the sled! Kade had so much fun. We took a lot of pictures and joked about how Grandpa needed to get better soon so he could take Kade again when he was older. We will miss you Grandpa Kade loved you sooooooo much.
